‘Railway minister should resign, for spying on opposition parties…’, TMC said on Odisha train accident

Odisha Train Accident: Political reactions have also started coming regarding the gruesome train accident in Balasore, Odisha. In this sequence, the ruling party Trinamool Congress (TMC) in the neighboring state of West Bengal has demanded the resignation of Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav regarding this triple train accident.

According to news agency PTI, TMC national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee has alleged that instead of installing anti-collision devices to prevent such train accidents, the central government is spending crores of rupees on software to spy on opposition leaders. He also said that the government led by PM Modi only brags.

‘Nothing was done for the safety of trains’

The TMC leader said, “The Centre’s Narendra Modi The government is bragging about Vande Bharat and newly built stations to gain political support by misleading the public, but doing nothing for security measures.”

Writing on the social media platform Facebook, he said, “It is the poor and marginalized who bear the brunt of the apathy of the Center and its actions, be it demonetisation, GST, lockdown, agriculture law or railways. There should be no measures taken regarding security.

Expressing condolences to the families of the victims, he further said, “My heart goes out to the families who have lost their loved ones and I wish the injured a speedy recovery. If the voice of conscience is left then the railway minister should resign. Now!”

BJP also retaliated

At the same time, BJP has accused the TMC leader of trying to politicize this tragic accident. Samik Bhattacharya, BJP spokesperson in West Bengal said, “There were train accidents even when Mamata Banerjee was the railway minister. Did he resign? The answer is no. TMC should not do politics on this tragic accident.
