Screw stuck in WTC India’s playing 11, questions persist about Ashwin and Umesh

WTC Final 2023: The final match of the World Test Championship is to be played between India and Australia from 7th June. Before the final, many questions are being raised regarding the playing XI of Team India. The biggest question is whether India will field with two spinners or four fast bowlers will be given a chance. Ashwin, Akshar and Umesh Yadav are the three players who are fighting for a spot.

In the last few years, Ravindra Jadeja has shown excellent form with the bat. Jadeja as an all-rounder remains the number one choice of captain and coach in all three formats. In England, Australia, South Africa and New Zealand, Jadeja has done better than Ashwin in both the ball and bat department. That’s why it is certain that Jadeja will play.

In the bowling department, Mohammad Siraj and Mohammad Shami will be the front line bowlers of Team India. Apart from this, it is almost certain that Shardul Thakur will also play. Shardul has the ability to swing the ball and make important contributions with the bat as well.

Umesh can get a chance

The whole screw gets stuck on whether Ashwin should be given a chance after seeing the help given to the fast bowlers on the pitches of England. Two years ago, India kept two spinners in the playing XI in the WTC final. This bet of India proved to be a complete flop. That’s why the claim of Umesh Yadav becomes stronger. Umesh Yadav can prove to be a good option in England instead of Ashwin.

Akshar Patel finds it very difficult to get a place. Akshar is heavy on Ashwin in batting. But in the matter of bowling, Akshar does not stand anywhere in front of Ashwin.

Playing 11: Rohit Sharma (captain), Shabhuman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, Ravindra Jadeja, KS Bharat (wicketkeeper), Ashwin/Umesh, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj.
