Indian-origin father-son arrested in Canada, misbehaving with girls on the pretext of alcohol and drugs


Canada Indian Origin Father-Son: Indian-origin Canadian father-son duo has been arrested by Canadian police on charges of sexually abusing teenage girls. Police in Calgary city of Canada’s Alberta province have identified the accused as 24-year-old Sumrit Walia and his 56-year-old father Gurpratap Singh Walia. The father-son duo is accused of sexually abusing several girls together.

In April this year, the Calgary Police Service Child Abuse Unit launched an investigation after a missing girl was found. During this, the girl told that she was in a relationship with a 24-year-old boy. The boy used to give her alcohol, drugs and vapes (e-cigarettes) in exchange for sex.

Greed for alcohol and drugs to girls
The Canadian father-son duo owns a premier liqueur wine store called Haddon’s in Calgary. Both of them used to carry out the work related to sexual exploitation in the same store. As the police probed further, it was found that the father-son duo sexually assaulted several other teenage girls by giving them vapes, marijuana, cigarettes and alcohol. Police believe that such incidents took place between December last year and this May. On the basis of investigation, the police arrested the father-son duo on Thursday (June 1).

Cocaine worth Rs 60 lakh
During the arrest, the police also raided one of his houses, where the police found 975 grams of cocaine. The value of the recovered cocaine was estimated to be around ₹ 60 lakh in the market. Police also seized child pornography, drugs and drug paraphernalia, contraband tobacco, vape cartridges and a computer along with sex tapes from the raided site. Staff Sergeant Darren Smith of the Calgary Police Service Child Abuse Unit said these are serious allegations where vulnerable youths were being targeted, exploited and forced into a dangerous lifestyle.
