Jayant Chaudhary further said, “We are with whatever policies the wrestlers make. I will not support any aggressive decision. Wrestlers are protesting demanding the arrest of the outgoing President of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.

Wrestlers have accused Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh of sexual harassment of women wrestlers. The Delhi Police has registered two FIRs against Brij Bhushan, the first one under the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act based on the allegations of a minor wrestler. On Tuesday, several eminent wrestlers including Sakshi Malik, Bajrang Punia, Vinesh Phogat and Sangeeta Phogat had reached Har Ki Pauri in Haridwar to protest against the action against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.
Government given time till June 9
All these wrestlers had gone to the river Ganges to shed their medals, but on the persuasion of Khap and farmer leaders, they did not do so and returned. After this, a Khap mahapanchayat was held first in Muzaffarnagar in UP and then in Kurukshetra in Haryana in support of the wrestlers. During this, the arrest of Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh was demanded and the government was given time till June 9 to take action on this issue. Khap said that if the demand is not met, the farmers will go to Jantar Mantar on June 9 with the protesting wrestlers.
