Now customers will get rid of unwanted messages! TRAI made this special plan

TRAI to Telecom Companies on Unwanted Calls: Almost every mobile user in the country is troubled by promotional calls and messages. In such a situation, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has ordered telecom companies to prepare an integrated DCA (Digital Consent Acquisition) platform to get rid of unwanted calls and messages to the customers. After the launch of this platform, no company will be able to send promotional calls and messages through digital medium without the permission of the customer. Right now the company takes the help of calls, messages, emails, social media etc. to give information about its products to the customers. In such a situation, due to this reason, customers have to face trouble due to sending the same call and message again and again.

A uniform platform will start

According to the report published in the Times of India, TRAI has issued this guideline under the Telecom Commercial Communication Customer Preference Regulation, 2018 (TCCCPR). It is to be noted that at present only companies, real estate companies, banks and trading companies are making calls in the country without taking permission from the customers. Apart from this, many companies harass customers by calling them repeatedly without user permission. In such a situation, this step of TRAI will help in bringing other companies also under this one digital platform.

Users have to take consent

TRAI has asked all telecom and other companies to prepare a DCA platform. Through this, these companies will contact customers through the platform before contacting them on call, message, email or social media. For this, TRAI has given a total of 2 months time to the telecom companies.

Through this platform, companies will be able to complete the process like taking consent from users, continuing or canceling it. Companies will also have to mention the purpose of the call, tenure and brand name in the consent message to the customers first. After this, only after getting consent from the user, companies will be able to send promotional calls and messages to them.
