Special Trains: East Coast Railway has decided to run special trains for the passengers who were stranded in Puri due to the cancellation of several trains due to the Odisha train accident and have to go to Howrah. Train services have been affected in the Bhadrak-Kharagpur railway section on the Howrah-Chennai main line after the tragic accident in Balasore on June 2.
East Coast Railway has decided that three special trains will be run between Puri and Howrah for the convenience of passengers. Information about this was given in an official statement on Sunday (June 4).
These three special trains will run between Puri and Howrah
According to news agency ANI, the Puri-Howrah special (02801) from Puri will leave at 7 pm and will run on the Jakhapura-Kendujhargarh-Dongoaposi-Kharagpur route. This train will stop at Sakhigopal, Khurda Road, Bhubaneshwar, Cuttack, Jakhapura, Harichandanpur, Keonjhargarh, Dongoaposi, Tata and Kharagpur between Puri and Howrah. This train will have two sleeper class, six second class chair cars and two guard cum second class seating coaches.
Puri-Howrah Special (02803) from Puri will leave at 9 pm and will run via Cuttack-Angul-Sambalpur City-Jharsuguda route. This train will stop at Sakhigopal, Khurda Road, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Angul, Raidkhol, Sambalpur City, Jharsuguda, Rourkela, Chakradharpur, Tata and Kharagpur stations between Puri and Howrah. This train will have 11 second class seating, 2 AC chair car, 2 chair car and 2 guard cum second class seating coaches.
The Puri-Howrah special (02805) from Puri will leave at 10 pm and will run via Jakhpura-Kendujhargarh-Dongoaposi-Kharagpur route. This train will stop at Sakhigopal, Khurda Road, Bhubaneshwar, Cuttack, Jakhapura, Harichandanpur, Keonjhargarh, Dongoaposi, Tata and Kharagpur between Puri and Howrah. This train will have two MEMU motor cars and six MEMU coaches.
Restoration work in full swing at the accident site
According to the latest figures, 275 people have lost their lives in the Odisha train accident and more than a thousand people have been injured. According to the Ministry of Railways, the restoration work is going on in full swing at the accident site. The officials are closely monitoring this work. More than one thousand employees are working on the spot. According to the ministry, more than seven Poklane machines, two accident relief trains and 3-4 railway and road cranes are deployed on the spot. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has expressed hope that the rail service will be restored at the accident site by Wednesday.
