Train movement resumes in Balasore: The first train departed from the accident-affected section in Odisha’s Balasore at around 10.40 pm on Sunday (June 4) night, 51 hours after the horrific accident. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav flagged off the goods train and during this time many media persons and railway officials were also present there. The goods train was going from Visakhapatnam port to Rourkela Steel Plant and was running on the same track where the accident took place on Friday (June 2).

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav tweeted, “The damaged down line has been completely restored. The first train left from the section.” After some time, he told by tweeting that train movement has started on the up-line as well.

The video of the first train which left after hours has also surfaced. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav is also seen standing in the video. As soon as the train passes through Bahanga railway station, the railway minister greets by shaking hands. After this, he is seen praying with folded hands.

Railway Minister has also shared videos from his handle. In a video, he is seen raising slogans of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and ‘Vande Mataram’ and thanking people.

Significantly, the Coromandel Express collided with a goods train standing there after entering the loop line instead of the main line near Bahanaga Bazar railway station in Balasore at around 7 pm on Friday. The Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express also came under the grip of this accident. At least 275 people have died in this accident.
