cutoff requirement in advanced
Around 16-thousand seats are available for admission to B.Tech, Integrated-M.Tech and dual-degree courses of 23 IIT institutes. Dev Sharma said that students have to get out of JEE-Mains mindset for success in the above prestigious entrance exam as there is no compulsion of individual subject cut-off for success in JEE-Mains but for success in JEE-Advanced Individual-subject cutoff is mandatory.

Understand the cut-off math like this
JEE-Advanced-2023 entrance exam is different from JEE Mains in many ways. Dev Sharma told that while individual-subject cut-off in JEE-Mains does not affect the exam-result, on the other hand it is necessary to have clear individual-subject cut-off in JEE-Advanced. If a student obtains less than the cut-off marks in any one of the subjects Physics, Chemistry, and Maths, he/she will be declared failed. The success and failure of the student will be decided on the basis of the aggregate cut-off only after the individual-subject cut-off is cleared.
