NIRF Ranking 2023 Top Universities List: Today the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) rankings were released by Dr. Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, Minister of State for Education and External Affairs. This ranking is available on the official website nirfindia.org. Talking about overall performance, IIT Madras is at number-1. While the Indian Institute of Science Bangalore remained at the top in the university ranking.
The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) ranking was started in the year 2016. Then more than three thousand institutes had participated for this ranking. The number which has now increased to cross 8 thousand. Indian Institute of Science Bangalore has been number one in the list of top universities this year. While Jawaharlal Nehru University New Delhi has made its place at the second place. Whereas, Jamia Milia Islamia, New Delhi has been in the third place.
Jadavpur University, Kolkata is at the fourth position in the university ranking. Banaras Hindu University located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh has been at the fifth place. Manipal Academy of Higher Education Manipal has got the sixth place. While Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Coimbatore is at number seven. Vellore Institute of Technology Vellore stood at 8th position. Whereas this year Aligarh Muslim University is at number 9 in National Institutional Ranking Framework ranking and University of Hyderabad is at 10th position.
Three private universities in top 10
In the university ranking, this year there have been three private universities in the top 10. Which are Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Coimbatore, Manipal Academy of Higher Education Manipal and Vellore Institute of Technology Vellore. Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham and Manipal Academy of Higher Education were also in the top 10 in last year’s ranking while Vellore Institute of Technology has made it to the top 10 this time.
