Monsoon Update: In the states of North India including the national capital Delhi, once again the period of scorching heat is going to start. According to the India Meteorological Department, an increase in temperature will be recorded from today. At the same time, while giving an update on monsoon, IMD said that its speed has also slowed down.
According to IMD, the monsoon has not yet reached Kerala and other coastal parts. Actually, the monsoon was about to knock in Kerala on Sunday (June 4) but it has not started. The southwest monsoon usually hits Kerala on June 1 and can start seven days earlier or seven days later.
IMD gave the latest update
In the middle of May, the Meteorological Department had said that the monsoon could knock over Kerala by June 4, but the IMD issued a statement on Sunday saying that there could be a delay of three to four days in the monsoon. The Meteorological Department is constantly monitoring the monsoon activities in the Bay of Bengal. Apart from this, the IMD has predicted light rain in the hilly areas of the Himalayas as well.
IMD issued heatwave alert in these states
The Meteorological Department has issued a heat wave alert for Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal. IMD issued heatwave warning in Bihar, West Bengal from June 4 to June 8. Along with this, the possibility of heavy rains has been expressed in Kerala on 6th June. In view of this, the Meteorological Department has asked fishermen in the sea areas to be alert for the next 5 days.
