Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan: Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has become the President of the country for the third consecutive time. According to an AFP report, Turkish police officers jailed a 16-year-old boy on Tuesday (June 6) for drawing Hitler’s mustache on Erdogan’s presidential election campaign poster.
Turkish local newspapers Birgun, Kumhuriyet and private TV station Halk TV confirmed the story of the mustache maker. Apart from this, several media outlets reported that a young man living in the southeastern city of Mersin drew Hitler’s mustache with a pen and wrote many derogatory things on Erdogan’s poster near his house.
The boy’s family confessed
The boy was identified with the help of the CCTV camera present at the place where the poster of Turkish President Erdogan was put up, after which he was arrested. At the behest of the police officers, the boy’s family confessed that the boy in his house had made Hitler’s mustache on Erdogan’s poster.
According to local news TV channel Hulk TV, a juvenile court judge found the boy guilty of insulting the president, after which the boy was sent to a youth center prison in the city itself.
Insulting the President is the most common crime
Recep Tayyip Erdogan defeated his nearest rival Kamal Kadrachlu on 28 May in the second round of the presidential election. After this, he will further extend his 20-year rule in Turkey. In simple language, he again became the President of the country for the next 5 years. According to Turkey’s Ministry of Justice, insulting the President is one of the most common crimes in the country, due to which a total of 16 thousand 753 people have been punished so far.
