Everyone has the right to education in our country. Every year lakhs of students appear in the examinations conducted by different boards. But do you know that after 10th, 35 lakh students are not able to reach till 11th. These figures and the reason behind it are surprising.

According to the assessment of 10th and 12th results done by the Ministry of Education, 27.5 lakh students are failing and 7.5 lakh students are not appearing in the 10th examination. Seeing the difference in these results, the Ministry of Education is considering a change in the study pattern. A report says that thirty five lakh students of class 10th are not reaching class 11th, 27.5 lakh students are failing and 7.5 lakh students are not appearing in the examination.

Major differences in the performance of students of different education boards, difference in pass percentage and lack of equal opportunity for students in view of standards are among the challenges identified by the Ministry of Education. According to School Education Secretary Sanjay Kumar, all the challenges have led the ministry to standardize the evaluation pattern for all the 60 school boards in different states of the country.

Maximum contribution of 11 states

The report states that mapping and information exchange of failed students (around 46 lakh) of regular state boards with Open Board can help in tracking and retaining students in the education system for a longer period. But currently only 10 lakh students are registering through open schools. According to the report, 11 states of the country contribute 85 percent of the school dropouts. Which include Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Assam, West Bengal, Haryana and Chhattisgarh.

Please tell that at present there are only three central boards in the country. Which are Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) and National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS).
