News Anchor Gitanjali Aiyar Death: Famous news anchor Gitanjali Iyer passed away on Wednesday (June 7). She was 76 years old. He worked in Doordarshan for more than 30 years. Due to the death of Iyer, there has been a wave of mourning among the fans. Paying tribute to Iyer on social media, many people are expressing condolences to his family. Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur has also expressed condolences on the demise of Gitanjali Iyer.

The Sports Minister tweeted, “Deeply saddened to hear about the demise of Gitanjali Iyer, one of the first and finest English news anchors on Doordarshan and All India Radio. A mentor and pioneer, he brought credibility, professionalism and a distinct voice to every news report, leaving an indelible mark in the journalism and broadcasting industries. My heartfelt condolences are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time. om Shanti.”

Gitanjali Iyer was one of the country’s first English news anchors. She joined Doordarshan in 1971 and received the best anchor award four times during her career with the channel. Gitanjali Iyer did her graduation from Loreto College, Kolkata. He did a diploma from the National School of Drama. In 1989, she also received the Indira Gandhi Priyadarshini Award given in honor of outstanding women.
