Wrestlers Protest Live: Bharatiya Kisan Union spokesperson and leader Rakesh Tikait said on Tuesday (June 6) that farmer organizations have not withdrawn support from the wrestlers’ movement. He said that on the demand of the wrestlers, the protest to be held on June 9 against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, President of the Wrestling Federation of India, has been cancelled.

According to the PTI report, the farmer leaders were said to be angry with the Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding the meeting of the wrestlers. It has been said in the report that the wrestlers did not tell the farmer leaders about the meeting with Amit Shah. After which he had withdrawn his support from the performance of the wrestlers.

Wrestlers meet Home Minister Amit Shah
Wrestlers Bajrang Punia and Sakshi Malik met Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday (June 3) night. After this meeting, Sakshi Malik and Bajrang Punia went to the office on Monday (June 5) to settle some work related to their jobs in the Railways. On which it was claimed that he has distanced himself from the performance of the wrestlers.

All the claims are just rumours- wrestler
However, after such reports surfaced, wrestlers Sakshi Malik and Bajrang Punia denied it. He said that he had gone to the railway office to do some of his remaining work. He said that such rumors are being spread to weaken the performance of the wrestlers. Our protest will continue till justice is served. If we have to leave the job for this, then we will leave.

During the meeting with the Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the wrestlers had demanded the removal of Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, accused of sexual harassment. However, the information about this meeting was not revealed for several hours. Regarding this, displeasure with the wrestlers of farmer organizations was being claimed.

Support to wrestlers will continue – farmer leader
Rakesh Tikait said in a statement to PTI that the protest to be held on June 9 has been postponed. We will wait for the solution to emerge from the talks between the government and the protesting wrestlers. Farmers’ organizations will continue to support the wrestlers.
