Wrestlers Protest Update: Wrestlers agitating for the arrest of the outgoing President of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh met Sports Minister Anurag Thakur on Wednesday (June 7). The meeting between the Union Minister and the wrestlers lasted for about 5 hours. This meeting took place at Anurag Thakur’s residence in Delhi. Know the big things related to this matter.
1. To end the wrestlers’ movement, the government had called the players for talks as a solution. Wrestlers are demanding the arrest of BJP MP and outgoing WFI President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. After this meeting, Anurag Thakur said that I had invited the players for talks, positive talks have taken place.

The Sports Minister said that the issues discussed in the meeting are- Police should file the charge sheet by June 15, Wrestling Federation elections should be completed by June 30, until the Wrestling Federation elections are held, two people from the commission’s committee The name has been proposed. Apart from this, the issue of providing security to women players was discussed. The wrestlers have said that they will not hold any demonstration or agitation till June 15.
3. After this meeting, Bajrang Punia and Sakshi Malik said that some issues have been discussed with our government. They have agreed that all the cases against the players will be dropped. Some of our demands have been accepted by the government, but there are more demands on which we have differences with the government. We hope that soon those things will also be accepted.
4. He said that we had discussed some issues. The police investigation should be completed by June 15 and the minister has requested us not to protest till then. He also said that the safety of women wrestlers will also be taken care of. According to the players, the movement is not over. Wrestlers will give information about the talks held with the government in front of the Khap Chowdhurys.
5. Vinesh Phogat, one of the wrestlers leading the movement, did not attend the meeting. She attended a pre-scheduled program in her village Balali in Haryana. Although he tweeted, “Not all stones are the mark of blame, that too is a stone that marks the destination.”
6. The meeting was attended by Tokyo Olympics medalist Bajrang Punia, Rio Olympics bronze medalist Sakshi Malik and her wrestler husband Satyavrat Kadian. Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait, who is supporting the wrestlers, also did not participate in the meeting.
7. Women wrestlers have accused Brijbhushan Sharan Singh of sexual harassment. Delhi Police has also registered an FIR against him. Meanwhile, the government is asking for a fair investigation.
