India won the toss and decided to bowl first, Ashwin did not get a place in the playing XI

WTC Final 2023, India vs Australia: The final match of the second edition of the World Test Championship (WTC) between India and Australia is being played at the Kennington Oval ground in London from today. In this match, after winning the toss, Indian captain Rohit Sharma did not take any delay in taking the decision of bowling first. Keeping the weather in mind, Team India has decided to play with 4 fast bowlers and 1 spin bowler in this match. In such a situation, Ravichandran Ashwin has not got a place in the playing 11.

After winning the toss and deciding to bowl first in this match, Indian captain Rohit Sharma said that we are taking this decision keeping the weather in mind. I do not think that there will be any significant change in the pitch. You have to play better to reach the top. We are going on the field with 4 fast bowlers and one spin bowler. The decision to keep Ashwin out was not easy for us at all. He has been playing the role of a match-winner for us for the last several years.

Rohit further said that you have to take a decision according to the situation which proves to be better for the team. On the other hand, Rohit said on Rahane’s return to the playing 11 that he is a very experienced player and has played more than 80 Test matches. He has done very well in the test.

Australian captain Pat Cummins said after the toss in this match that we also wanted to bowl first in this match. I don’t think it’s going to make much difference. Some spin can definitely be seen on the 4th and 5th day of the game. There is some grass on this wicket and Boland can prove to be a useful bowler for us.
