Prime Minister Narendra Modi The Government of India (Modi Govt) on Wednesday once again increased the MSP of Kharif crops. During today’s meeting of the Union Cabinet, the increase in the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of these crops was approved. This is going to benefit the farmers across the country. If we look at the 9 years of the Modi government, during this period the MSP of Kharif crops has been increased by up to 100 percent.

Such an increase in the support price of pulses

After getting the seal of the cabinet, it was told in an official release that the minimum support price of Arhar i.e. Tuar Dal has been increased by Rs 400 to Rs 7000 per quintal. In the marketing year 2014-15, the rate of MSP for Arhar was Rs 4,350 per quintal. Similarly, the MSP of moong dal increased from Rs 4,600 to Rs 8,558 per quintal during this period. The MSP of urad was Rs 4,350 in 2014-15, which has now increased to Rs 6,950 per quintal.

Now the MSP of paddy has become this much

Talking about the most important Kharif crop paddy, its MSP has also increased rapidly. It was between Rs 1,360 to Rs 1,530 per quintal in 2014-15, which has now increased to Rs 2,183 to Rs 3,180 per quintal. Similarly, the minimum support price of jowar was Rs 1,400 to Rs 1,530 per quintal in 2014-15. Now it has increased from Rs 3,180 to Rs 3,235 per quintal.

Sharp increase in MSP of coarse grains

In the case of coarse cereals, the MSP has increased at the fastest rate. In the 9 years of the Modi government, the minimum support price of millet has increased from Rs 1,250 to Rs 2,500 per quintal. Similarly, the MSP of maize and ragi has increased from Rs 1,310 and Rs 1,550 per quintal to Rs 2,090 to Rs 3,846 per quintal, respectively.

MSP of oilseeds increased in this way

In the case of oilseeds, the MSP of sunflower has increased from Rs 3,750 to Rs 6,760 per quintal. At the same time, the MSP of groundnut has increased from Rs 4,000 to Rs 6,377 per quintal. During this period, the MSP for soybean, sesame and black sesame has increased from Rs 2,560, Rs 4,600 and Rs 3,600 to Rs 4,600, Rs 8,635 and Rs 7,734 per quintal, respectively.
