According to the report, Kamath has joined The Giving Pledge established in 2010 by Warren Buffet, Melinda French Gates and Bill Gates. Before him, Azim Premji, Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw and Rohini and Nandan Nilekani have also joined The Giving Pledge. Kamath is the fourth and youngest Indian to join it.

According to the Edelgive-Hurun India Philanthropy List 2022, Nikhil Kamath and his brother Nitin Kamath donated Rs 100 crore from their wealth in 2022. Nikhil Kamath’s recent donation will be spent in areas like climate change, energy, education and health.

So far, 241 billionaires from 29 countries have joined Warren Buffet’s The Giving Pledge. Tesla CEO Elon Musk is also included in the big names associated with this.
