Travis Head first player to score century in WTC final, played record breaking innings against India


WTC Final, India vs Australia: The final match of the second edition of the World Test Championship (WTC) is being played between India and Australia at The Oval ground in London. In this match, on the first day of the game from the Australian team, a brilliant century innings was seen with the bat of Travis Head. Head has also become the first player to score a century in the final match of WTC.

After winning the toss in this match, the Indian team decided to bat first. After this, the Australian team lost its third wicket on the score of 76 during the second session of the game. From here, Travis Head along with Steve Smith started the process of progressing the innings rapidly. When the game stopped at tea time, Head had completed his half-century.

With the start of the last session of the first day, Travis Head continued to bat aggressively. Travis Head completed the sixth century of his Test career in just 106 balls. This is the first Test century of Head’s career which has come on foreign soil. At the same time, this is Head’s first century against India in Test cricket.

Travis Head became the first player after Clive Lloyd to do so

Travis Head has made a special record for himself with this memorable century. The record of scoring a century in the final match of the first ODI World Cup played in the year 1975 is in the name of great former West Indies player Clive Lloyd. Being a left-handed player, he also got down to bat at number-5 in the match. Head was also able to score a century in this match by coming down to bat at number-5.
