Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Badal’s emotional appeal- ‘Those who have left the party should come back’

Punjab News: Shiromani Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Singh Badal on Thursday appealed to all the leaders who left the party in the last few years to return. He said that if he has any mistake then he is ready to apologise. Badal made this statement after welcoming two members of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) to the Akali Dal. He had supported Bibi Jagir Kaur’s candidature for the post of president of the apex gurdwara body in November last year.

’10-15 SGPC members will rejoin Akali Dal’
Badal welcomed two SGPC members Harpal Singh Jalla and Amrik Singh Janitpur into the party. Badal said that 10 to 15 SGPC members supporting Bibi Jagir Kaur would rejoin the Shiromani Akali Dal in the coming days. Badal said that many people are in the process of rejoining the party. He said members of the SGPC had realized that Bibi Jagir Kaur was part of a “diabolical conspiracy” to divide the Sikh community and weaken the ‘panth’. He said that all the members have decided to stand united against these “anti-cult forces”.

‘We must stand united against forces trying to undermine the Panth’
The Akali Dal chief appealed to all the leaders who had left the party during the last few years to rejoin the party. He said, “If I am wrong somewhere, I apologize for that, but we all should unite to defeat the forces that want to weaken the ‘Panth’.” Several party leaders have left the Akali Dal, including former Speaker of Punjab Legislative Assembly Charanjit Singh Atwal and his son Inder Iqbal Singh Atwal and former MP Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa and his son and former Finance Minister Parminder Singh Dhindsa.
