According to news agency PTI, top leaders of Gujarat Congress have reached Delhi to meet the central leadership.

After the 2022 Gujarat assembly elections, Congress leader Raghu Sharma resigned from the post taking moral responsibility for the defeat. However, the responsibility of in-charge of Gujarat is still with him.

Top leaders of Gujarat Congress were called to Delhi. These include MLAs from Porbandar, Arjun Modhwadia, Amit Chavda, Shailesh Parmar, Siddharth Patel and Deepak Babaria, who was recently sent as an observer for the election of the leader of the legislature party in Karnataka.

According to party sources, Deepak Babaria and former Leader of Opposition Paresh Dhanani are being considered as the main contenders for the post of State President. The party can first appoint the state in-charge and later will appoint the state president.
