Releasing a statement from the Railways, it was said that the brake pads of the train caught fire due to continuous rubbing due to non-removal of brakes completely. The fire was confined to the brake pads. There was no damage in this accident.

According to India Today’s report, the Railways said in its statement that when the train reached Khairier Road station on Thursday evening, there was smoke in the B3 coach. Railway officials made it clear that the problem was rectified within an hour and the train left for its destination at 11 pm.
In the B3 coach of Durg Puri Express, as soon as the smoke filled people got out of the train. Because of this, there was a stir among other passengers as well. This incident happened within a week of the accident in Balasore district of Odisha. In the Odisha train accident, 288 lives were lost and more than 1100 people were injured.
