Arvind Kejriwal Review Petition: Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convenor Arvind Kejriwal has filed a review petition in the Gujarat High Court regarding the issue of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s degree. The AAP convenor has filed this review petition on the order pronounced on 31 March. The court had rejected the order of the Central Information Commission (CIC) in which the degree was asked to be shared. Along with this, a fine of 25 thousand rupees was also imposed on Arvind Kejriwal.
Gujarat High Court Justice Biren Vaishnav has accepted the case after hearing Kejriwal’s review petition. A division bench of Justice Biren Vaishnav on Friday issued a ruling to the respondents, Gujarat University, the Chief Information Commissioner, then CIC Professor M. Sridhar Acharyulu and the Union of India, and listed the matter for further hearing on June 30.
What in review petition?
According to the English website Live Law, in his review petition, Kejriwal has said that based on the submission made by Solicitor General Tushar Mehta for Gujarat University, the court noted in its March 31 order that PM Modi’s educational degree was awarded by Gujarat University. are available on the website of While this is not correct as there is only one Office Register (OR) present on the website which is different from the original degree.
At the same time, earlier SG Mehta had submitted before the Gujarat High Court that the said degree is available on the website of Gujarat University and Kejriwal can verify it. Making this the basis, Arvind Kejriwal has demanded a review of the decision.
Kejriwal has also said that he took the help of persons with special knowledge on the subject to do a complete scan of the official website of Gujarat University and found that the ‘degree’ has not been uploaded online. While the university had made such a claim before the High Court. Apart from this, the fine of Rs 25 thousand has also been challenged in this review petition.

In fact, in the matter of PM Modi’s degree, in the year 2016, the Central Information Commission had issued an order to Gujarat University to give a copy of PM Modi’s MA degree under RTI. On this, the university had argued in the High Court that this order was passed as soon as the notice was passed. After this, the High Court rejected the order of the Central Information Commission (CIC), in which Gujarat University was given to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal as the Prime Minister.
