2000 Note Exchange: The Supreme Court has refused to immediately hear the petition against the exchange of Rs 2,000 note without showing the identity card. The vacation bench of the court said that earlier a bench had said that the petitioner should request a hearing from the Chief Justice after the summer vacation.

Earlier on June 1, the Supreme Court had refused to immediately hear a petition regarding the same matter. On the petition of advocate Ashwini Upadhyay, the vacation bench of Justice Sudhanshu Dhulia and KV Vishwanathan had said that this is not a matter which needs to be heard immediately. At that time also the bench had asked the petitioner to request for a hearing after the summer vacation.
