Donald Trump Classified Documents Case: Federal charges were made public on Friday (June 9) in the classified information case against former US President Donald Trump.

According to Sky News, Trump kept classified documents (documents containing sensitive information) in the shower and ballroom. Trump is facing 37 counts of possession of confidential information, obstruction of justice and making false statements.

Secret records include details of foreign nation’s nuclear capabilities

The allegations said Trump was personally involved in moving boxes of classified documents to his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida. According to an AP report, highly classified records seized by the FBI from Trump’s residence include details of a foreign nation’s nuclear capabilities.

Trump aide was caught on CCTV removing boxes

According to Sky News, the accused in the case with Trump and his associate Walt Nauta were seen in CCTV footage removing boxes at the Mar-a-Lago estate. The allegations outline two circumstances in which Trump allegedly showed documents to others and he held documents containing sensitive information detailing vulnerabilities of the US and its military strike allies.

According to an AFP report, the Justice Department said that when Trump left the White House in January 2021, he took with him classified files containing highly sensitive information from the Pentagon, CIA, National Security Agency and other intelligence bodies.

What else was said in the allegations against Trump?

According to the indictment filed in federal court in Florida, Trump kept the files unsecured at his Mar-a-Lago residence and club in Florida, which regularly held large social events with thousands of guests.

The indictment said that the unauthorized disclosure of documents leading to Trump could put US national security at risk. The charges, brought by Justice Department special counsel Jack Smith, carry up to 20 years in prison for each.
