Somalia Blast: A massive bomb blast took place in Somalia on Saturday (June 10), in which 27 people died, while more than 53 people were injured. According to CNN reports, most of the dead are children.

According to the report, the accident occurred due to the explosion of a mortar shell near the town of Koryoli in the Lower Shabelle region of Somalia. Koryoli city’s Deputy District Commissioner Abdi Ahmad Ali said that the incident occurred due to the explosion of explosive residues like bombs and landmines. He told that during the accident, children were playing in the village ground, when there was a huge explosion, in which dozens of children came under the grip.

Most of the children died in the blast

According to the report, most of the children died on the spot, while some were hurriedly taken to the hospital in Korolle for treatment, where they died during treatment. According to Abdi Ahmed Ali, the treatment of the injured is going on. However, the number of dead may increase further. In fact, the condition of some of the injured remains critical. Ahmed Ali told that a detailed investigation is being done as to how the accident happened.
