Wrestlers Protest News Today: The matter of changing the statement of a girl among wrestlers who accused Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh of sexual harassment is gaining momentum. On this matter, now Olympic medalist wrestler Bajrang Punia said on Saturday (June 10) that only the family members of the girl can give correct information whether the girl is a minor or not.
Bajrang Punia said that the father of the minor has said that there is pressure on me. That’s why they have changed the statements. He also said that his entire family was in depression. If people like Brijbhushan keep roaming outside, then girls will be broken. The sad part is that fake news is being spread that wrestlers are compromising with ministers.
What else did Bajrang Punia say?
He said that we have met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur. The government assured the wrestlers that our demands would be heard. If necessary, we will protest after June 15 and no wrestler will resume his official duties after starting our protest. If we do not resume our protest, all the wrestlers will return to their government jobs.
Khap Panchayat gave ultimatum
The wrestler further said that today a panchayat was called on behalf of the players. We kept our point in front of the panchayat. Khap Panchayat has been told that the government has given time till 15th. The Panchayat has said that if nothing happens after the 15th, the movement will start again. The government has assured us that the charge sheet will be filed before June 15 and Brij Bhushan and his associates will not become members of the WFI.
