Mine workers will get safety cover in case of emergency, SECL will provide this technology


Korba News: SECL is engaged in the exercise of 100% production with zero accident. For this, state-of-the-art techniques are being used in the mines. Many times accidents and crisis situations arise during coal production in the mine. In such a situation, the distressed miners need immediate help. New technology will be used in the mine under the Digi Coal Project. Which has been named as the protective cover. As soon as the distressed workers send an SOS alert, the rescue team will immediately reach the spot and provide help.

There will be a facility to send SOS alerts in times of trouble through security cover equipment. As soon as the employee sends the alert, the time and place information will be received immediately. After this, the rescue team will reach the spot on time without any delay and start the rescue work. The personnel are engaged in coal production work in underground and mega projects of SECL. Coal production and dispatch work is done with the help of heavy machines in mega projects. Coal India’s Digi Coal Project, the company management is using state-of-the-art technology for better safety of the employees working during the coal mining process and to provide immediate help in case of crisis.

SECL has also provided safety cover to operators using heavy machines including shovel, dumper, surface miner and other heavy machines in open mines. SECL employees can use security cover in times of crisis. State-of-the-art technology will help in avoiding big loss by getting immediate help in times of crisis.

Miners’ Safety Priority – Directorate General of Mines Safety

This safety cover of Coal India has been prepared by giving priority to the safety of the miners. This initiative is focused on the safety of the miners as per the directions of the Directorate General of Mines Safety. Officials say it marks a significant advance in mining safety measures that prioritize the interests of miners, the backbone of the coal industry.

SECL personnel have been provided with a safety cover which they have to keep hanging in their shirt or pant pocket. In case of emergency, the employees will be able to take its help for rescue. Suraksha Kavach has facility to send SOS alerts. Which can be used by personnel in odd circumstances. With sending the alert, the rescue team will know the location and time of the accident.

Drone survey is also being used

Digital solutions are playing a leading role in the way mine surveys are conducted today. SECL is reaching new heights with its drone based surveys. Drone-based surveying is empowering people to conduct more accurate, faster and safer surveys by deploying remote controlled drones, covering vast areas and generating real-time topography in record time. The technology includes aerial mapping with high and accurate cameras and helps in conducting frequent surveys even in the more inhospitable areas to ensure availability of latest pit layouts and continuous safety and security of SECL personnel on the ground.
