Karnataka High Court: The Dharwad Bench of the Karnataka High Court has upheld the death sentence awarded to a man who killed five people, including three children. During this, the court said that the decision of the lower court is correct.
Disposing of two petitions filed by the convict and the state, a bench of Justice Suraj Govindraj and Justice G Basavaraj said, “The brutality of the crime resulted in the death of five people, including three children below the age of 10 years.”
The court further said, “In view of the brutality with which this was done, we are left with no option but to confirm the order of death sentence passed by the trial court.” With a heavy heart, we uphold the decision of the lower court.”
