The Punjab government has taken this decision at a time when there has been no change in the prices of petrol and diesel since last year. The prices of petrol and diesel have remained stable since April 2022. There has been no change in its price in all metros including New Delhi.

How much VAT has been increased by the Punjab government

Petrol VAT rate has been increased by about 1.8 percent. Due to this, petrol has been made costlier by 92 paise per litre. At the same time, the diesel VAT rate has increased by 1.13 percent.
