At the same time, before this diamond, the previous record of purple-pink diamond was made in 2019. When a 10.64-carat diamond was sold at Sotheby’s in Hong Kong for $19.9 million. According to Forbes, at that time it was the most expensive and valuable gem in comparison to other gems.

“The Eternal Pink” was discovered by De Beers at the Damatsha mine in Botswana. Its name is Estrella de Fura, which means Star of Fura in Portuguese. Sotheby’s has described it as the brightest pink diamond ever to hit the market. Along with this it has also been named as the most valuable stone.
