Biparjoy Cyclone Update: The effect of Biparjoy storm has started appearing on the coast of Gujarat as well. Water has entered the Porbandar walkway. The effect of this Biparjoy cyclone is being seen in Navsari where strong winds are blowing and high waves are also rising in the sea. Same is the condition of Kutch. Cyclone Biparjoy is having maximum effect today. 25 to 30 feet high waves have been seen on the sea shore of Porbandar. The Porbandar administration has also been alerted about the effect of Cyclone Biparjoy in entire Saurashtra including Porbandar. Coastal villages have been advised to be alert.

Alert issued for people
Cyclone Biperjoy is moving slowly. The effect of the storm is being seen in the sea of ​​Porbandar. As a precaution, coastal villages have been alerted, while flood-affected areas have been instructed to move to a safer place. All facilities including accommodation and food have been made available to the affected people at the Cyclone Center located in Parakhi Gosa village. An appeal has been made to the villagers to keep essential items in sufficient quantity. The Meteorological Department has also issued a yellow alert in Kutch and Saurashtra.

These areas will be affected
It may be noted that Cyclone Biparjoy is likely to hit Gujarat on June 15. Chakravyuh is likely to happen on 15th from 11 am to 3 pm. Cyclone Biparjoy has changed direction several times. Coastal areas of Saurashtra, Kutch and West Gujarat, Rajkot, Bhavnagar, Jamnagar, Dwarka, Porbandar, Kandla are likely to be affected.

According to the Meteorological Department, the wind is expected to blow at a speed of 125 to 135 kmph when the cyclone hits Gujarat. Heavy rain is expected in Kutch, Morbi, Dwarka, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Porbandar on 14th and 15th. The cyclone will also affect Central Gujarat and North Gujarat. There is a possibility of heavy rains in Ahmedabad as well. It is expected to rain with thunder and lightning.

What did the Meteorological Department say?
The department said, Very Severe Cyclonic Storm (VSCS) Biparjoy lay centered near latitude 17.4N and longitude 67.3E, about 600 km WSW of Mumbai, 500 km south-southwest of Porbandar and 830 km south of Karachi. It is likely to reach the coast of Pakistan and Saurashtra and Kutch on the afternoon of June 15.
