Alliance break with JJP in Haryana fixed? BJP has now made a strategy to focus on this

Haryana News: BJP, which formed the government in Haryana in alliance with Dushyant Chautala’s Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) after failing to get an absolute majority in 2019, has now made up its mind to return to non-Jat politics in the state like in 2014. According to BJP sources, JJP leader and Deputy Chief Minister in the coalition government Dushyant Chautala has been indicated by the party that if he wants, he can go out of the alliance, because now BJP is not ready to give him anything new.

According to sources, the BJP, which missed out on getting a majority in the 2019 assembly elections, has now made up its mind to focus more on non-Jat voters in view of the 2024 Lok Sabha and assembly elections. BJP has prepared a plan to save the government in Haryana on the strength of independent MLAs and to save political land in the state on the strength of non-Jat voters and the party is continuously working on this roadmap at many levels simultaneously.

Haryana Vidhan Sabha Chunav: Election enthusiasm intensifies in Haryana, Surjewala’s show of strength in Hooda’s stronghold, know what is the strategy

In Haryana’s 90-member assembly, BJP currently has 41 MLAs, while JJP has 10 MLAs. If JJP separates from the government, then BJP will need at least 5 more MLAs to save the government. This is the reason that a few days ago Haryana BJP in-charge Biplab Deb met Haryana’s independent MLAs Dharampal Gondar, Rakesh Daulatabad, Randhir Singh, Somveer Sangwan and Halopa chief and MLA Gopal Kanda to ensure that JJP separates from the alliance. After this, there should be no chance of the government falling. On the strength of Gopal Kanda and all 7 independent MLAs, BJP’s tally reaches 49.

On the other hand, like in 2019, in 2024 also, BJP has made a strategy to focus on non-Jat voters to win all the 10 Lok Sabha seats in Haryana and to get a majority in the assembly elections on its own, that is, to save political ground in Haryana.

It is believed that the maximum number of Jat voters in Haryana is around 25 percent. It is also claimed that Jat voters play an important role in deciding the victory or defeat in 35 assembly seats in the state. But BJP is now going to focus on its traditional vote bank in the state as well as on voters of all other categories except Jats. BJP is especially eyeing the vote bank of Mayawati i.e. BSP. Dalits have the biggest vote bank in Haryana after Jats. About 21 percent of the voters in the state come from the Dalit class and this is the reason why the BSP, which did not win a single seat in the 2019 assembly elections, also got 4.14 percent votes in the state.

The BJP’s strategy is to woo non-Jat voters in the state, ie Dalits, Brahmins, Banias, Punjabis, Sikhs, Jats, Gujjars and Ahirs, whose total numbers sit around 69 to 71 percent. BJP strategists believe that there are many contenders for Jat votes in Haryana and their division is certain. The party is also assuming that due to the farmer’s movements and wrestlers’ movement, it is very less likely to get the votes of the Jats and in such a situation the party can get more benefit by focusing on the voters of other classes.

Let us tell you that in the 2014 assembly elections, BJP had formed the government alone in Haryana for the first time by winning 47 out of 90 seats, but in the 2019 assembly elections, its number of seats had reduced to only 40. Due to not getting the majority, BJP had to take support from JJP at that time and in return for the support, Dushyant Chautala had to be made Deputy Chief Minister. But now BJP is not ready to bear the burden of this alliance too much.
