‘Difference between Hindu-Muslim communities may widen, in such a situation…’, Madani writes to Amit Shah

Uttarkashi Hindu Mahapanchayat: Maulana Mahmood Asad Madani, president of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, has appealed to stop the Hindu mahapanchayat to be held on June 15 in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand. Madani has written a letter to Home Minister and Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to stop this.

In fact, people of Hindu organizations created a ruckus in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand regarding the alleged ‘love jihad’. A Hindu mahapanchayat is going to be held here on June 15, before which posters asking Muslims to leave Uttarkashi have been pasted.

‘Strict action should be taken against those who spread division’

Maulana Madani has expressed concern over the threat of eviction of the Muslim community in Uttarkashi. He has urged to take strict action against the forces spreading division in the society and to protect the life and property of the citizens of India.

‘The gap between Hindu-Muslim may widen further’

In a letter written to the Home Minister, Maulana Madani said that the mahapanchayat to be held in Uttarkashi on June 15 should be stopped, otherwise a situation of communal conflict may arise in the state and the gap between the Hindu-Muslim communities may widen further.

Maulana Madani said that Uttarakhand has been an ideal state in terms of law and order and communal harmony, what is happening in Uttarkashi does not match its nature. They are openly spreading fear and enmity between the two communities. Maulana Madani has further said in the letter that the inaction on the part of the government and its agencies has further aggravated this grave communal situation.

‘Intimidators are beyond the reach of the law’

He reminded that this is the land of Uttarakhand where some communal elements had organized ‘Dharma Sansad’ and threatened the genocide of Muslims. The people who organized these programs a year ago are not only beyond the reach of the law, but they are also involved in spreading hatred and fear mongering in this current incident.

Maulana Madani has written that Hinduist organizations are openly putting up posters, releasing videos and unfortunately the local police are standing as spectators. Growing Islamophobia and communalism in the state is dividing the society and destroying communal harmony.
