Procedure to become an IAS officer

After graduation, the aspirant has to fill the UPSC Civil Services form. Every year UPSC conducts Civil Services Exam. Submit the application as soon as it arrives on the portal, keeping in mind that fill it before the time runs out.

The exam of the first part is called UPSC Prelims, multiple choice questions come in this exam. There are two papers in this exam, the first is of General Studies 1, both the papers are of 200 marks. CSAT has to be qualified and General Studies is done according to 1st merit rank. All the aspirants should go through the prelims syllabus thoroughly and prepare accordingly.

The second part exam is called UPSC Mains. This exam can be given only by those candidates who have cleared the prelims. This paper is made by combining nine papers, out of which two are optional. This paper is of total 1750 marks. One subject has to be chosen from the list of 48 optional subjects. Aspirants have to go through the UPSC Mains Syllabus for their further preparation.

There will be an interview round in the third part, for that you will have to improve your personality and increase your communication skills. The candidates who pass all the three rounds. He is sent to LBSNAA (Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration) for 2 years of training.
