Justice Lokur said that WFI does not have a committee to deal with complaints of sexual harassment, which is against the law. He said, “When the protests started in January, it was not that they had decided to go straight to Jantar Mantar. They made complaints, but there was no complaints committee in the wrestling federation.

Justice Lokur also talked about the apprehension of danger to the protesting wrestlers and pointed out that the Supreme Court had said that they should be provided security. During this, Supreme Court lawyer Vrinda Grover alleged that the government had violated the law in the case of wrestlers. He said, “It is mandatory under the law to have an internal complaints committee. The law is being violated because there is no ICC in the wrestling federation.”

Many big wrestlers of India, including two Olympic medalists and a world champion, are demanding action against the WFI chief. Female wrestlers have accused Singh of sexual harassment.
