Australian woman MP alleges sexual harassment inside Parliament House


Australia: An Australian MP claimed on Thursday that he was sexually assaulted inside Parliament House. The woman MP said that the Parliament House is not a safe place for women to work. An Australian MP has made a serious allegation of sexual harassment against her own colleague. 

According to the report of India Today, in the address of the Senate, Lydia Thorpe said on Thursday that she was subjected to sexual comments, she was surrounded in the stairs, she was touched inappropriately. This treatment was done to them by the male MPs sitting together inside the Parliament. Addressing the Senate with moist eyes, he further said that the situation here has become so bad that even while leaving the room, one has to be careful about many things. There is always fear. 

Many women became victims of sexual harassment 

It is noteworthy that Lydia Thorpe has made these serious allegations against MP David Van. Thorpe also accused a fellow senator on Wednesday of pressuring him to withdraw the allegations made by him. Not only this, MP Thorpe has claimed that many women have been victims of such sexual harassment. On the other hand, they are denying the allegations of sexual harassment made by Van Thorp. He is calling it false and baseless.
