Russian Oil To Pakistan: The people of Pakistan are troubled by the expensive petrol diesel whose prices are skyrocketing there. The government of Pakistan has also bought crude oil from Russia to provide cheap petrol diesel to its people, the first consignment of which landed in Karachi on Sunday. Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif shared the information about cheap oil deal with Russia to his people. But you will be surprised to know that India also has a special relationship with Russian oil landed in Pakistan.
Actually Russia gave this oil to Pakistan on the condition that the refining of this crude oil will be done in the refinery of Russian company in India and Pakistan will pay for it in Chinese currency Yuan. The Government of Pakistan accepted Russia’s condition, after which Russia sold crude oil to Pakistan at a price close to $54 per barrel, much lower than the price of crude oil in the international market. Although this deal was not disclosed.
According to Dainik Bhaskar’s report, the crude oil that went from Russia to Pakistan first reached Gujarat’s Vadinar Refinery to be refined. Russia’s giant oil company Rosneft has a 49.13 percent stake in the Vadinar refinery and the Russian government runs this company. This is the reason why Russian crude oil was refined in this refinery because the crude oil bought from Russia could not be refined by Pakistan’s refinery. First the refinery had to be upgraded. At present, only the oil coming from Saudi Arabia is refined in the Pakistani refinery.
But Russian oil did not directly reach Pakistan after refining from Gujarat’s Vadinar Refinery. Rather, it was first sent to UAE i.e. United Arab Emirates. After that Russian oil left for Karachi in Pakistan. Pakistan had tried to negotiate directly to get oil from India, but this thing could not be successful. This oil was sent to Pakistan through a Russian company in the UAE. Which was welcomed by the Prime Minister of Pakistan.

It is believed that Pakistan has bought 1 lakh metric tonnes of crude oil from Russia, it has received the first consignment and soon the second consignment is also going to be received.
