Amazon Prime Lite Plan: Instead of watching pictures in theaters and TV, today people prefer to watch new movies or web-series in OTT apps. Most people watch OTT apps on mobile only. Meanwhile, OTT platform Amazon Prime has introduced a cheap annual recharge plan. The company has named it Amazon Prime Lite, whose annual charge is Rs 999. By the way, Amazon offers three types of plans, which include monthly, quarterly and annual plans. Till now the company used to offer an annual plan of Rs 1,499 to the customers, in which they get 4K content and support for 6 devices.
Only so many devices are supported in Prime Lite
Amazon had earlier released the Prime Lite plan for some selected people. Now the company has rolled out this plan for all. In the plan of Rs 999, users will get HD content, support of 2 devices and fast delivery support from the company. Users will also get to see ads in Prime Light.
Apart from Amazon, Netflix is also experimenting with subscriptions to increase its subscriber base. The company has eliminated password sharing in select countries so that everyone can buy their own subscription. Action on password or account sharing is currently not happening in India because
Netflix’s position is not that strong in India. Like Amazon, Netflix is also thinking of bringing an advertising-supported streaming i.e. Ads on the platform to attract more customers so that the price can be reduced.
Jio’s annual plan
Reliance Jio had introduced an annual subscription plan for Jio Cinema as soon as the IPL was over. Its price is also similar to Amazon. The company offers JioCinema Premium plan of Rs 999 to customers in which they can watch content related to HBO and Warner Bros. Under this plan, users can stream content on 4 devices and watch it in 4K resolution.
