Instagram globally rolled out Channel feature, this is how to use it

Instagram Channel feature: Meta has rolled out the channel feature globally for Instagram. That is, now anyone can get daily updates through this feature by joining the channel of their favorite creator. Meta had made the Channel feature live for some selected users in February, through which they could send videos, photos and new updates to their followers. Well now this feature is live for everyone and creators will be able to use broadcast channels as a public one-to-many messaging tool.

With the help of the channel feature, creators will be able to invite all their followers, as well as share text, images and video updates. Not only this, creators can also create voice notes in the channel and poll questions to get feedback from followers. Note, only the creator can post in the channel feature, and everyone else will be able to simply view messages and enter their reactions to poll questions.

How will it work?

As soon as the channel feature is available to a creator, on sending the first message, the followers of the creator will get a notification through which they can be added to the channel. Any user can see and search the creator’s channel, but only those people who have followed it will get the updates of the messages coming inside the channel.

Followers will also have the option to mute the channel or change the settings for updates.

From where to join the channel?

To join any creator’s channel, you can do this by visiting their profile or story. People who are already followers of the creator will get it as soon as a nonfiction channel is created and they can easily add to the channel.
