EU Passes New Law for Removable Battery: All the smartphones available in the market today come with non removable battery. That is, a special tool is required to remove the battery from the phone. But now once again removable batteries can come back in mobile phones. The European Union has passed a law in this context and 587 members have voted in this regard while only 9 parliamentary members have supported this law. The new rule has been passed so that mobile phone companies do not sell such smartphones which require special tools to open. At present, this law has been passed in the European Union and the users here will be able to easily replace the battery of the smartphone in the coming times.
Law will not apply now
The new law will come into force after 3 years from today. That is, from 2027, removable batteries will be available in smartphones in the European Union. Well now it will be interesting to see how smartphone maker companies react to this decision of European Union. The European Union has also brought this law so that e-waste can be reduced and the environment can be saved from harm.
Law has also been passed regarding Type-C charger
This is not the first time that EU has enacted a law regarding mobile charger or battery. Earlier, the union had passed a rule related to USB Type-C charging port last year. This law was praised worldwide and the Government of India has also asked all mobile companies to provide Type-C charging port in the phone from 2025. The purpose of this law is also to reduce user expenses and electronic waste.
