Congress On Manipur Violence: The Congress on Saturday (June 17) asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi several questions regarding the violence in Manipur and said that 10 opposition parties want to meet him.
Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh told that Congress, Janata Dal United, Communist Party of India, Marxist Communist Party, Trinamal Congress, Aam Aadmi Party, All India Forward Bloc, Nationalist Congress Party, Shiv Sena (UBT) and Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP) Manipur The leaders of the units have asked for an appointment by sending a letter through email on June 10 and then by handing over the letter to the Prime Minister’s Office on June 12.
Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said, “Leaders of 10 like-minded opposition parties in Manipur want to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi.” It is expected that the Prime Minister will meet these leaders before leaving for the foreign trip. These people will remain here till June 20.
Atal Bihari Vajpayee was mentioned
Jairam Ramesh said that Manipur was burning even 22 years ago and at that time all the parties had requested to meet the then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. After this, the all-party delegation met Vajpayee twice.
He further said that it is quite clear that the state government is a complete failure and there is no hope from it. Now the people of Manipur only the Center and the PM Narendra Modi expected from.
BJP and RSS mentioned
Jairam Ramesh alleged that the ideology of BJP and RSS is responsible for the present situation in Manipur. During this, former Manipur Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh said that we have prepared a memorandum. We have not come to do politics. We just want to urge PM Modi to first ensure normalcy in Manipur and then start a dialogue between the two communities.
