UP Conversion Cases: After the repeal of the Conversion Law in Karnataka, where the country’s politics has heated up, in UP on the other hand Yogi Adityanath (Yogi Adityanath) The government has now become even more strict on matters like conversion and love jihad. UP’s Special DG Law and Order Prashant Kumar (Special DG Prashant Kumar) said that if someone voluntarily converts, then there is no problem in it, but if an attempt is made to forcefully convert, then strict action will be taken against him.

Special DG Prashant Kumar said that the law of conversion in Uttar Pradesh is applicable from 27 November 2020. The act brought by the government regarding conversion is being strictly implemented. The government is determined to take legal action against those who are pushing for religious conversion by bringing them under the purview of Love Jihad. Cases of normal conversion also come up from time to time, action is being taken against them.

Strict action against conversion
The Special DG said, the matter of motivating a child from Ghaziabad to convert to religion through online gaming has come to light. In this case too, a cleric of Ghaziabad’s mosque has been arrested. After enquiry, further action is being taken by bringing the main accused to another state. There is no problem if people convert voluntarily, but if they are forced to convert, action will be taken.

Let us tell you that according to the figures released by the UP government, strict action is being taken against the conversions. From 2021 to April 2023, 427 cases of illegal conversion have been registered in the state. So far, more than 833 people have been arrested under the Conversion Act. Along with this, in the interrogation, the matter of forced conversion of 183 people has also been accepted. The UP Police is constantly in action under the sections of the Conversion Act.
