Foreign cigarettes worth crores caught in Pakistan, you will be shocked to know the price


Pakistan: A large quantity of foreign brand cigarettes worth Rs 114 million have been seized during raids at different places in Balochistan, Pakistan. This action has been taken by the Custom Intelligence (Customs) of Pakistan. Don has given information about this. According to the report, following this raid, customs officials claimed to have seized foreign brands of smuggled cigarettes worth Rs 303 million last week, during an anti-smuggling operation launched in four provinces.

During a conversation with Dawn, a spokesperson of Custom Intelligence has told that the seized cigarette in Balochistan is the biggest consignment. During the raid here, the customs officials have recovered 4,280,000 sticks of foreign cigarettes. According to Dawn, the spokesperson of Custom Intelligence has further said that in the current financial year, the Customs Intelligence has seized a total of 33,994,850 cigarettes worth Rs 1,324 million.

Canada took a big decision regarding cigarettes

Notably, Canada recently announced that it would require health warnings to be printed directly on each cigarette. In other words, apart from the packet, now every cigarette will have a warning printed on it. This effort of Canada is to reduce the deaths due to tobacco. Canada has become the first country in the world to do so.

Canadian health officials behind this initiative claim that it will help those who want to quit smoking. Along with this, people will be more aware and avoid using tobacco. Canada has set a target of 5% reduction in tobacco use by 2035.
