London: An Indian-origin man in London has been sentenced to 18 years in prison for raping and sexually assaulting four women. The convict used to make women his victims on the pretext of getting them jobs in his massage parlour.
The 50-year-old Indian man, identified as Raghu Singamaneni, was sentenced at Wood Green Crown Court on Friday following an investigation by the Metropolitan Police, reports India Today. The jury unanimously found Raghu Singmaneni guilty of rape and sexual assault involving four women. The court held that the man ran two massage parlors on Holloway Road and High Road, where he raped the women after luring them with jobs.
Job used to advertise on the app
The Metropolitan Police said that Raghu Singamaneni used to advertise on the job app for women to work in the parlour. After which he used to take appointments to meet women and then used to sexually assault them. Detective Constable Hussain Saim, who led the investigation, said that the man had committed the abhorrent act of sexual harassment by luring women with jobs. According to Hussain Saim, Raghu used to force young girls to drink alcohol after giving them jobs. After which he used to execute his plans.
He used to give liquor to the girls
The convict’s victim, a 17-year-old teenager, told the police that she met Raghu in a parlour, he gave her a glass of prosecco (liquor), which got her intoxicated. Raghu then took her to a hotel, where he tried to rape her and sexually assaulted her. The second crime took place at the High Road Parlour, when Raghu asked a 19-year-old girl for a massage and raped her after forcing her to drink vodka. The rest of the incidents have also been executed by Raghu in the same manner.

According to the police, the culprit used to think that the girls suffering under the pressure of the job would never be able to open their mouths. In such a situation, he sexually assaulted her fearlessly, but showed courage to speak before the court, after which the sentence was pronounced against him.
