China on LeT terrorist Sajid Mir: China has once again put a hurdle in the proposal of India and America to declare Lashkar terrorist Sajid Mir as a global terrorist. Sajid Mir is wanted in 26/11 Mumbai terror attack. India and America had brought proposals in the United Nations to declare him a global terrorist, but China has stopped that proposal.
Terrorist Sajid Mir is also known by these names
According to the US agency Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), terrorist Sajid Mir is originally from Pakistan. He has many names. He is known by names like Ibrahim, Wasi, Khalid, Washibhai, Bhai Ali, Musa Bhai, Vashi Ibrahim, Sajid Majeed and Ibrahim Shah.
He was born in Lahore, Pakistan. For the date of birth, he used two dates, which include 1 January 1978 and 31 January 1976. His eyes are brown and height is 173 cm. He knows Hindi, English, Urdu and Arabic languages.
America has kept a reward of 5 million dollars
The US has placed a reward of $5 million (about Rs 41 crore in Indian currency) for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Sajid Mir. According to the FBI, Sajid Mir once sported a shoulder-length beard and hair and may have changed his appearance through plastic surgery. It is believed that at present he is in Pakistan.
Sajid Mir was the main conspirator of Mumbai terror attack!
Sajid Mir was involved in the terrorist attacks in Mumbai from 26 November to 29 November 2008. 10 terrorists trained by Pakistan’s terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba carried out serial attacks at the same time in many areas including Taj Hotel, Oberoi Hotel, Chhatrapati Shivaji Station, Metro Cinema, Dock, Vile Parle in Mumbai.
About 170 people lost their lives in the terrorist attacks, including six American citizens. According to the FBI, Sajid Mir allegedly acted as the main planner of the attacks and Mir was one of the handlers in Pakistan who were carrying out the terrorist attacks. In addition, in 2008 and 2009, Sajid Mir masterminded a terrorist attack against a Danish newspaper and its employees.
America had issued an arrest warrant in 2011
On 21 April 2011, Mir was indicted by the United States District Court in Illinois. He was charged with conspiring to damage foreign government property, providing material support to terrorists, murder of a citizen outside the United States, and bombing places of public use. The US had issued an arrest warrant against him on 22 April 2011.
Earlier also China has used veto for this terrorist.
Let us inform that last year also America had brought a proposal to declare Sajid Mir as a global terrorist, which was supported by India and even then China had banned the proposal using its veto.
Pak officials had claimed the death of Sajid Mir
In June 2022, Pakistan’s Anti-Terrorism Court sentenced Sajid Mir to 15 years imprisonment in the Terror Financing Case. Earlier in 2021, Pakistani officials had claimed Mir’s death, but suddenly on 21 April 2022, Pakistan had talked about arresting him. After this, on May 16, 2022, Pakistan’s Anti-Terrorism Court sentenced Sajid Mir and sent him to a jail in Lahore.
