Nasser Hussain on Stuart Broad: Former England captain Nasser Hussain has praised the commitment of fast bowler Stuart Broad, who performed brilliantly in the first Test of the 2023 Ashes series against Australia. He says that Broad will give everything till he retires.
Stuart Broad took three wickets in the first innings of the first Test of the Ashes series played at Edgbaston. After this, he also took three wickets in the second innings. In the first innings, Broad dismissed David Warner and Marnus Labushen in two consecutive balls. Broad dismissed Marnus Labuschagne (13) and Steve Smith (6) in the final session of the fourth day’s play to give the hosts an upper hand in the Edgbaston Test.
Nasser Hussain wrote in his column for The Daily Mail, “He (Stuard Broad) can say he has given the game his all and will give it his all until he retires. What makes him special is his understanding of the game”. His understanding of getting veteran players out is fantastic.”
He further wrote, “You can see Broad taking care of this. This is his ninth and probably the last Ashes series, if we look at his last eight Ashes series, then it will be known that his record against Australia is the same, for which he should be considered.” Will always be remembered. England declared their first innings by scoring 393 runs. After this Australia had scored 386 runs in their first innings. In the second innings, England scored 273 runs and set a target of 281 runs in front of Australia, which the visiting team achieved by losing eight wickets in the last moments of the match.
