Women’s Prison in Honduras: A shocking case has come to light in a women’s prison in Honduras. On Tuesday, 41 women prisoners died in the jail. In fact, prisoners have died due to burns in the violence between two gangs over illegal activities. Police officials have given information about this.

Yuri Mora, spokesman for the National Police Investigation Agency of Honduras, has issued a statement regarding the entire incident. They have said that most of the victims were burnt. Yuri Mora has told that some have also been shot.

He said the incident took place at the Tamara prison, about 30 miles (50 kilometers) northwest of Tegucigalpa, the capital of Honduras. Female prisoners who are seriously injured are being treated at the Tegucigalpa hospital.

Julisa Villanueva, the head of the country’s prison system, has expressed grief over the whole incident and said that action will be taken against the organized gang involved in the riot. He also informed that strict efforts have been started a few days ago to stop illegal activities inside the jails. This is the reason why this riot happened.

Often there are reports of fighting from the jails here. In the year 2019 too, a similar gang violence took place when 37 prisoners died.
