Sharad Pawar on Manipur Violence: Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) President Sharad Pawar has targeted the central government over Manipur violence. He has criticized the Modi government on Wednesday (June 21) for not using the power and resources to stop the violence in Manipur.

According to the news agency PTI, more than 100 people have been killed so far in ethnic violence in Manipur. Regarding this, in a function organized on the occasion of 24th Foundation Day of NCP, former Defense Minister Sharad Pawar said that BJP-ruled Manipur is a border state and neighboring countries can misuse the international border.

‘The current government has no time to think’

During this, he also said that violence has been going on in the state for the last 45 days, but the people sitting in power do not even have time to consider the current situation and what could be its result? The former Rajya Sabha MP further said that the Prime Minister on a state visit to the United States Narendra Modi should focus on dealing with the internal situation.

“The prime minister can go wherever he wants but first he should deal with the internal situation and for that power is not being used (to improve the situation in Manipur),” he said.

Apart from this, when he did not invite President Draupadi Murmu to the inauguration of the new Parliament House, he said that the President Draupadi Murmu to last month new parliament building Modi was not invited to the inauguration because Modi did not want anyone above him in the protocol and constitutional hierarchy to inaugurate the building. He alleged that institutions and constitutional posts are not being respected.

Speaking on farmer suicides in Maharashtra, former Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar claimed that 391 farmers have committed suicide in the state in the last 5 months alone. At the same time, he has also alleged that communal riots have also been organized in some parts of Maharashtra for political gains. These riots have been organized in those areas where BJP is weak.
