Chhattisgarh Assembly Election 2023: Congress and BJP have started their election preparations for the assembly elections to be held in Chhattisgarh and are preparing new strategies to win the elections. On one hand, the Congress seems completely confident about its victory in this election, on the other hand, the BJP is also asserting its victory to come to power once again. If we talk about Bastar, the issue of religious conversion has been in the limelight here for the last few months.
In such a situation, the Congress has fully engaged in helping the voters of the Christian community who are angry with the BJP and is saying that not a single conversion case has come to the fore in Bastar. On the other hand, BJP is trying its level best to drive the wave of Hindutva in Bastar and to bring back the converted people to their homes.
Congress is looking confident about the votes of Hindu Muslim society
In fact, like every time, both BJP and Congress are considering Bastar as more important in the political environment. In this context, where leaders from state level to national level of BJP are heating up the atmosphere of Bastar regarding conversion. At the same time, Congress’s top leader Priyanka Gandhi and Chhattisgarh in-charge Kumari Selja have also infused new energy into the party by campaigning in Bastar. It has been believed in the political circles that any political party which the people of Bastar have put their heads in their eyes, has been in power in Chhattisgarh.
BJP is focusing more on Hindu Muslim voters in Bastar. That’s why the Congress has already started wooing the Christian and Muslim voters. The Congress seems completely confident about the votes of the people of both the religions. Bastar’s in-charge minister Kawasi Lakhma says that not a single case of conversion has come to light in Bastar division, BJP is bent upon spoiling the peaceful atmosphere of Bastar. He said that Congress Sarvdharma is one. In this Christian Muslim runs with all the religions.
Expressed displeasure with the oath of economic boycott
Here, in order to win the elections in Bastar, the BJP is now focusing on local issues, including the basic problems of the people and the issue of increasing conversions. BJP spokesperson Kedar Kashyap says that BJP works on the lines of Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas, those who basically belong to Christ society are always with BJP. The BJP is getting only such people to return home who are changing their religion under allurement and are basically adopting other religions and their customs instead of tribal tradition. The return of such people to their homes will definitely bring peace in Bastar.
Kedar Kashyap said that Congress is promoting religious conversion. It will not make any difference in the elections, the vote bank of BJP will definitely go to BJP and BJP will also win in this election. However, in Jagdalpur, after Hinduist organizations took the oath of economic boycott of Christian and Muslim society, a lot of resentment was also seen among the people of these two communities.
In such a situation, the Congress is assuming that the votes of the people of both these religions will go unilaterally and 100% to the Congress. At the same time, now BJP is also basically engaged in helping the people of Christian community and Muslim society. Here, before the elections, the issue of religious conversion in Bastar will be beneficial for which party and who will be harmed, only time will tell.
